A phone call when a push goes unanswered

A push can be missed; a ringing phone is harder to miss. When a push goes unanswered, my-iris calls the same person, reads the alert aloud in the receiver group’s language and asks for a keypress. No answer, and my-iris moves on to the next person.

The call flow

From an unanswered push to a resolved alert

The call is one step in a single stateful escalation, not a separate system. Every keypress feeds the same engine as the app.

  1. 01

    Push unanswered

The push window closes without an answer (5 minutes by default).

  2. 02

    Call placed

my-iris calls the same person and reads the alert aloud in the receiver group’s language.

  3. 03

    Keypad prompt

“Press 1 to acknowledge. Press 2 to skip. Press 3 to repeat.”

  4. 04

    Next person

2, or no answer, moves the alert on to the next person on the list.

  5. 05

    Resolved + proof

1 acknowledges the alert. The end report and an audit-ready record are saved.

Built for critical calls

  • Spoken in 7 languages

The alert is read aloud by text-to-speech in the language set for the receiver group, and so is the keypad prompt.

  • Answered with a keypress

Press 1 to acknowledge, 2 to skip, 3 to hear it again. my-iris records the keypress with its time.

  • One escalation, push and call

The call is a step in the same escalation as the push. No answer, and my-iris moves on to the next person on the list.

  • Silence is not an answer

Busy, declined, unanswered or voicemail: none of them acknowledges the alert, so the escalation continues.

  • Voice-first when you need it

Alerts sent with a voice service call first, without a push — for people who work without a smartphone.

  • Status and cost recorded

Each call’s status and cost go into the audit trail. Calls are paid from prepaid credit.

Voice calls are orchestrated from Cloudflare’s EU edge, with STOP/START opt-out, configurable retention and audit logging built in.
