Alerts that reach the right phone

The my-iris app puts every alert on the on-call person’s phone as a push notification. One tap to acknowledge or skip, a message thread to coordinate, and the end report when the alert closes. If the push goes unanswered, my-iris calls.

Built for the 2 AM alert

  • Push first

Every alert starts as a push notification to the on-call person’s my-iris app. The push carries no alert text: the app fetches it from my-iris over an authenticated connection.

  • Acknowledge or skip in one tap

Acknowledge takes the alert and stops the escalation. Skip passes it to the next person, for that one alert only.

  • A thread in every alert

Everyone the alert has reached can post and read messages on it while it is active, so the team can agree who goes on site.

  • A call when a push goes unanswered

If the push is not answered within the window you set (5 minutes by default), my-iris calls the same person: press 1 to acknowledge, 2 to skip.

  • The end report

When the alert ends, the app and the console show what happened: the outcome, who acknowledged and when, and who was notified.

  • Joined by invitation only

Your admin invites each person from the console with a link or QR code, and they confirm their number with a six-digit SMS code. The admin can sign a phone out at any time.

A push carries no alert text. The app fetches the alert from my-iris on Cloudflare’s EU edge, and the app’s data is covered by GDPR export, erasure and your retention settings.

Nothing to install from an app store

The my-iris app is an installable web app. Each person opens the invitation from their admin on their own phone and confirms their number with a six-digit SMS code.

Android

Open the invitation in Chrome and follow the steps. Allow notifications when the app asks.

iPhone

iOS 16.4 or later. Open the invitation in Safari, add my-iris to the home screen, then open my-iris from its icon to join. Push notifications work from the home-screen app.

The my-iris app — frequently asked

Do people need to install anything from an app store?

No. The my-iris app is a web app: on Android it runs in Chrome, and on iPhone it is added to the home screen from Safari and opened from its icon (iOS 16.4 or later is needed for push notifications there).

What if someone has not joined the app, or misses the push?

my-iris calls them. A person with no registered app gets the voice call straight away; when a push goes unanswered, the call follows once the push window closes.

Which languages does the app use?

The app itself is in English today. Voice calls speak the language set for the receiver group, any of the 7 my-iris languages.

Can an admin remove a phone?

Yes. An admin can sign a phone out of my-iris from the console at any time. It stops receiving alerts straight away.

What do Apple and Google see?

Their push services deliver an encrypted, fixed-length reference and nothing else: no alert text and no phone number. The app fetches the alert from my-iris. Apple and Google are listed as sub-processors.
